Oh, football season, wherefore art thou?  The off-season can be somewhat boring to the football fanatic who eats, drinks, and sleeps the game regardless of the level of play.  It is at those times that gridiron maniacs can be found chomping at the bit for the months of August and September to come and the high school, college, and NFL seasons to begin.  This past Friday night could have been classified as a breath of fresh air for many “Red and Black” fans as a plethora of high school spring games took place throughout the Peach State.

 
One particular spring game in southwest Georgia brought forth the presence of a host of recruiting targets of the Georgia Bulldogs football program and even a current star of the #SicEm17 class.  The Warner Robins Demons traveled to Leesburg (Georgia) and took on the Trojans of Lee County.
 
 
Lee County has bolstered a great deal of notoriety in the world of high school football in the recent past and is coming off of an 8-3 season in which they made the GHSA 6A Playoffs only to be eliminated by Mays (Atlanta, Ga.).  The Trojans also made great headway in the world of recruiting with University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and company routinely courting phenom and U.S. Army All-American DT Aubrey Solomon.  Solomon would eventually commit to Michigan breaking the hearts of many UGA fans that had hoped and longed to keep the talented defensive star at home.  Another top UM target and current Ann Arbor Commit that plays for the Trojans participated in this past Friday’s contest though.
 
 

 
 
Class of 2018 4-Star Safety Otis Reese (6’4, 206 – Lee County – Leesburg, Ga.) played well against the Demons’ offense and seemed to be magnetized to whatever player had the ball in his possession.  He exhibited quickness, keen awareness, and versatility showing why he is considered to be one of the best players at the safety position in the state of Georgia.  Reese did this with at least two different representatives from Michigan on the sidelines watching leaving them in no doubt salivating at the possibilities of what he could do for the Wolverines in the future.  All that being said, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Football program have been and will continue to go after Reese despite his current commitment to Michigan and for good reason.  With this situation, one must always remember to never say never and recruits can flip at any moment.  Reese would be an outstanding steal for the Dawgs should he, in fact, have second thoughts of playing for Harbaugh and decides to Commit To the “G”.
 
 
Another safety for the Trojans that looked good on Friday was Class of 2018 UGA target Tyrone Harris (6’1, 190 – Lee County – Leesburg, Ga.).  While he may not have the attention that Reese has drawn, Harris still looked the part in defensive coverage against the Demons.  He has at least two confirmed offers at this point in Florida Atlantic University and Georgia State.
 
 
The Lee County Trojans also boasted some apparent talent on the offensive side of the ball as well.  One such target came in the form of Class of 2018 OT Griffin McDowell (6’4, 270 – Lee County – Leesburg, Georgia).  He looked very athletic for his size and showed good footwork, speed, and aggressiveness on the offensive line for the Trojans.  All of these are attributes that the University of Georgia would not mind having from an O-Lineman.  McDowell already has at least 6 confirmed offers to include Troy, Marshall, and Kansas.
 
 

 
 
Class of 2018 Trojan WR Tyquavious Terrell (6’0, 190 – Lee County, Leesburg, Georgia) looked very polished at the WR position catching a deep pass from Lee County QB Jase Orndorff (Class of ’18 – 6,0, 200 – Lee County, Leesburg, Georgia) for a touchdown as can been seen per Terrell’s recently updated Hudl highlight at http://www.hudl.com/v/1nr9Wr.  Terrell exhibited great speed, agility, athleticism, and leadership qualities during the pregame warm-ups, on the sidelines, and in the field of play.  He has not been shy about his affinity for the University of Georgia and most recently took a visit to Athens this past February.  It would appear that his love for the Georgia Bulldogs football program has not waned either as he could be seen sporting some UGA gloves during the spring game contest.
 
 
Perhaps the biggest sleeper recruit on hand for the Trojans was Class of 2018 WR/FS Joshua Asbury (6’2, 180 – Lee County – Leesburg, Georgia).  Asbury, while sporting UGA gloves and a “G” towel, was terrific down the field on pass plays displaying uncanny speed, footwork, and hands.  The play of the night for Lee County on offense most certainly could go to the rising senior WR as he pulled down an Odell Beckham Jr. style one-handed reception while keeping both feet in play which can be seen at http://www.hudl.com/v/1nqBrr.  It might bode well for Kirby and company to keep an eye on this as the 2017 football season comes to fruition.
 
 

 
 
Warner Robins did not go without its fair share of impact players and Dawg targets being impressive on the field either.  Class of 2019 QB Dylan Fromm (6’0, 200 – Warner Robins – Warner Robins, Georgia) looked the part and ready to go come game time.  The rising junior quarterback is in his first year with the Demons and showed off his arm, roll-out and scrambling capabilities, all while showing leadership under center.  This can be further reiterated via his Hudl highlight clips from the spring game at http://www.hudl.com/v/1nywUL.  Given that he is in a new system and his familiarity with the type of offense the Demons will run under Mike Chastain moving forward, expect only marked improvements from Dylan Fromm as the 2017 high school football season comes about.
 
 
Class of 2019 Georgia Elite Classic member and WR/TE Tyler Fromm (6’4, 200 – Warner Robins – Warner Robins, Georgia) also looked good at the Demons’ spring game hauling in some bullets thrown from his twin brother and others.  This should come as no surprise given the year he had last season at Houston County with his older brother and now Georgia Football quarterback Jake Fromm throwing to him (35 Receptions, 543 Receiving Yards, 5 TD’s).  It is moreover no surprise given that Tyler Fromm was awarded the Top WR/TE Award at the MVP Camp held at Lassiter High School in Marietta not even a full month ago.  This Fromm has in no doubt solidified himself as one of the top targets on the receiving end of the ball in his region and throughout the state of Georgia for that matter.  UGA should keep its eyes on this one as other major football powerhouse programs are in no doubt doing so.  In terms of upside potential and productivity, it does not get much better than Tyler Fromm.
 
 

 
 
On the offensive line for the Demons was Class of 2018 OT Christian Armstrong (6’5, 335 – Warner Robins – Warner Robins, Georgia).  Ranked as the #20 overall OT in the nation (2018 Class), Armstrong looked very good on the line showing quickness, agility, and superb pass protection.  His pregame leg kicks further show that he is no slouch by any means and that he has a great deal of flexibility given his massive stature.  With offers from Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, And Penn State already on the table and a seemingly growing interest in the Seminoles, Sam Pittman has a tall task of luring in this top offensive tackle but it would assuredly benefit the UGA football program if he were able to do so.  Keep an eye on this OT moving forward as one can bet that many others are and will do the same.
 
 
With all of the aforementioned Warner Robins and Lee County recruits and targets covered, it would bode well to mention that #SicEm17 Georgia Football QB Jake Fromm made the trip with his mother and father (and other family members) to Leesburg to watch younger brothers Dylan and Tyler.  Their travels to the Warner Robins/Lee County Spring Game even brought about a musical performance of Jake and his parents singing Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Backroad” of which has garnered thousands upon thousands of views and countless news stories.  The UGA Freshman QB is coming off of a great G-Day performance in April of which he went 14-23, for 277 yards, and 2 touchdowns.  He continues to work hard and perform well despite any pressure and is contending for the starting job at the quarterback position with Red and Black Sophomore QB Jacob Eason.  Look for Jake Fromm to continue to fight for that starting job and maybe even sign a record deal or two in the process.  Go Dawgs!!!
