University of Georgia swimming and diving head coach Jack Bauerle was one of seven inducted into the Athens Athletic Hall of Fame on Monday.
 
Bauerle has overseen the women’s program since 1979 and the men’s team since 1983. He has guided the Lady Bulldogs to seven NCAA and 12 SEC championships. Bauerle has been recognized as the NCAA Women’s Coach of the Year seven times and as the SEC Coach of the Year 18 times (16 for the women, two for the men). Bauerle has a 318-34-2 dual-meet record with the Lady Bulldogs and a 228-91-1 mark with the Bulldogs. He is the NCAA’s winningest active combined (546) and women’s coach. His teams have accumulated 44 top-10 finishes at the national meet.
 
 

 
 
In 2008, Bauerle served as the United States’ women’s head coach at the Olympics. He was an assistant coach at the 2000 Games with the U.S. women and the 2016 Olympics with the men. Bauerle has guided the United States teams at three World Championships and four Duels in the Pool.
 
 
Bauerle previously was inducted into the Georgia Sports, Georgia Aquatics and Montgomery County (Pa.) Coaches halls of fame. He was the 2012 recipient of the Bill Hartman Award, which is given annually to a former UGA student-athlete based on 20 years of professional excellence.
