Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart looks on at recruits attending his football camp at UGA

It’s been a busy three days at the University of Georgia for Kirby Smart, his coaching staff and the Bulldogs as they wrapped up their first football camp of the summer on Saturday.

The Kirby Smart High School Football Camp kicked off on Thursday, June 1st and Georgia hosted a slew of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 prospective student-athletes over the weekend. The camp gives recruits the opportunity to visit UGA and to learn from as well as work out in front of the Bulldogs’ staff. And it was a very good camp for both the recruits and for Georgia.

The Bulldogs picked up two commitments on day two of the camp on Friday from North Gwinnett High School 2018 offensive lineman Warren Ericson and Miami-Northwestern 2018 defensive back Rachad Wildgoose, Jr., CLICK HERE for the story on the commitments of Ericson and Wildgoose. And a number of prospects received offers from Georgia.

Two 2020 defensive ends earned offers on Friday. Sergio Allen, a WDE/OLB prospect out of Peach County High School from Fort Valley, GA along with Andy Boykin, a SDE prospect out of Troup County High School in LaGrange, GA both performed very well and impressed the staff.

2020 defensive tackle prospect Jamil Burroughs out of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, GA was another defensive lineman that earned an offer from the Dogs and it was also his first offer.

And 2019 offensive lineman Dontae Lucas impressed Coach Sam Pittman to garner an offer. Lucas is a 6 foot 3.5 and 329 lbs OG prospect out of out of Miami Senior High School in south Florida.

The Bulldogs also offered 2020 Hillgrove High School defensive end Myles Murphy on Saturday, his first.

A couple of players turned heads at the camp with their performances including 2020 athlete Zay Britt out of Munford, AL who ran a 4.44 forty, but Effingham County High School 2018 RB Lamonee Toot Johnson really showed off, throwing down a 4.41 forty and looking like he had already been in Georgia’s strength and conditioning program for the past year.

And what did the recruits think of Georgia and the Kirby Smart Football Camp?

South Florida, Miami Central High School 2018 wide receiver Terrell Perriman said UGA felt like home.

Anthony Summey a 2019 running back out of Middletown, NJ said he will be coming back to Athenss after his experience at the camp over the weekend.

Class of 2019 safety Cortez Andrews out of Tallahassee, FL had a good time.

The Georgia coaching staff recently offered 2019 defensive end Curtis Fann, Jr. on May 26th and he also plans on coming back to Athens for another visit after his experience at Kirby’s camp.

2020 linebacker Kevin Swint is always happy to have an opportunity to around the University of Georgia.

Tommy Tremble, a legacy recruit and very talented 2018 tight end prospect out of Johns Creek High School echoed Swint.

Carver High School 2020 running back Jo’Quavious Marks out of Atlanta, GA also had a great time at UGA.

Coach Kirby Smart and UGA’s next camp will be a kicking camp on Wednesday, June 7th, a basic football skills camp also on June 7th and on June 8th, followed by a youth camp for the 8 to 14 years age group from June 8-10th next weekend.
