One of the top Peach State tight ends for the class of 2018, Tommy Tremble, released his top six schools via Twitter on Tuesday. Are the Bulldogs still among Tremble’s top school and what are the chances that he commits and signs with Georgia?
Blessed to have come down to these 6 schools…🙏🏽🕊 pic.twitter.com/iXJ1d3ubKF

Tremble has narrowed down it down to Fresno State, Georgia, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, and UCLA from over 23 FBS scholarship offers. The Bulldogs offered son of former Georgia defensive back, Greg Tremble, who played for UGA back in the early nineties, on April 8th, 2017. Tremble’s recruiting really took off this spring, and part of the reason for that are teams are starting to take notice of the 6 foot 4 and 225 lbs athleticism and playmaking ability, which reminds me some of Georgia’s 2016 tight end signee Charlie Woerner with his receiving ability and route running.
While 247, ESPN, Rivals, and Scout only rate Tremble as a three-star prospect, he has impressed on the field as well on the camp circuit. He put on a show at Nike The Opening Atlanta Regional putting up an 111.33 score. That was the 10th best performance out of the Atlanta Regional group and the best out of the TEs and also beating out all the WRs besides Kearis Jacksons’ 114.27 and Alontae Taylor’s 112.11. I expect Tremble’s rating to improve, especially if he has a strong senior season and continues to camp and test well. Regardless if it does, he has the potential to be a mismatch nightmare for DBs and LBs at the collegiate level.
So, what are Georgia’s chances here?
After Kirby Smart offered Tommy Tremble on his visit to UGA back on April 8th, the Bulldogs became the early favorite for the legacy recruit, and they remain one of his top schools. A number of analysts have him leaning more towards Notre Dame at the moment, but the Irish just signed four-star TE prospect out of Naples, FL, George Takacs. Last year, the Golden Domers also signed two other four-star TEs in Cole Kmet and Brock Wright. While Georgia also signed two highly touted TEs themselves for 2016 in Isaac Nauta and Charlie Woerner, the Dogs will be losing Jeb Blazevich and Jordan Davis after they complete their senior 2017 season. That will leave Nauta, Woerner and Jackson Harris as the three remaining scholarship TEs for UGA for 2018, and there is a good chance that Nauta could depart early for the NFL after 2018 if he has a strong sophomore and junior campaign. So, I think Tremble has the opportunity to see the field sooner at Georgia than at Notre Dame.
He is also coming off a very good visit with Notre Dame on June 21st, but I think the Bulldogs are still the team to beat here. The question is will the Georgia coaching staff take one or two TEs for 2018, and if it is just one, is Tremble their top target on their board? I think the key is what Luke Ford does. Ford is currently ranked as one of the top five TEs for 2018. If Ford commits to UGA, then Tremble may end up getting pushed to another program due to the fact that the Bulldogs may only take one TE for 2018 because of numbers. If Ford doesn’t, I like Georgia’s chances here.
If you want to get out and see Tommy Tremble on Friday night this fall, he played at John’s Creek from his freshman to junior years but will finish out is high school career at Wesleyan for 2017. Until then, enjoy these highlights from Tremble’s 2016 junior season at John’s Creek.
