Last week I caught up with 2019 Athlete Winston Wright Jr. to see how the recruiting process is going for him. The talented player gave some insight on whats going on with him this summer.

Wright is a three-star athlete according to Rivals and 247 Sports. He currently has eight offers including ones from Georgia State, Mercer, Flordia Atlantic and Coastal Carolina.

How has the recruiting process been thus far?

“Recruiting has been fun I’m glad God put me in a position I’m in to live this.”

What is your favorite aspect of being recruited by D1 schools?

“just being able to play at that level is a blessing.”

Who are your top teams right now?

“UGA, UF, USC, ND, and UCF.”

Describe what you do as a player to get attention from coaches and get offers from these schools.

“Just grinding making my self-known at camps.”

Do you have a dream school from when you were younger? If so, where and why?

“UGA bc I grew up watching them and I always wanted to play for my state.”

The true 19 game is coming up, what are you most looking forward to by playing in it?

“Just meeting new ppl and making my name bigger and competing.”

Who is currently recruiting you the hardest?

“UCF.”

When do you plan on announcing?

“My junior summer.”

Is there anything that you are doing as a player to improve your skills?

“Perfecting my craft and keeping God first.”

How much are your coaches helping you in this process? Who has been there the most for you?

“They’re helping a lot. But mostly my trainer and head coach are helping me out the most.”

As a rising junior, how important do you feel it is to get big time coaches attention?

“I want to prove to them that I’m a special player.”

Have you decided what you want to do after football, like a major?

“I want to open workout facilities around the world.”

Do you have any personal goals you want to accomplish this upcoming season?

“I want to help my team win our region and then state.”

You visited Georgia recently, talk to me about the visit and how it went.

“It was one of my best visits, not the football side but academic wise too.  I love the staff down there and I have a good connection with Coach Coley.”

Despite not having an offer from the Bulldogs yet, Wright keeps grinding and pushing hard to hopefully get that offer soon. Wright’s raw talent is already getting teams attention, but as this season gets closer I see him blow up onto the recruiting scene.

Check out Wright’s hudl video and keep your eye out for this talented athlete this season.
