The No. 1 Georgia equestrian rode to a 12-6 victory over the sixth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs on Friday afternoon at the Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, TX.

 
Senior Bailey Anderson earned her third-straight Most Outstanding Performance honor in Horsemanship. Sophomores Sydney Hutchins (Equitation on the Flat) and Julia Spreng (Reining) also earned MOP honors for their rides. This marks the first honor of Spreng’s career.
 
 
“The team competed really strong,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “It’s always nice to get the win, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have work to do tomorrow. Our main focus was to make sure we rode and competed on the horses that we were seeing in front of us. The girls executed today’s plan brilliantly.”
 
 
The Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) and Horned Frogs (2-2) each earned two points in Equitation Over Fences to start the meet. Junior captain Emma Mandarino rode to an 82-80 defeat of TCU’s Carley Barnett. Sophomore Ali Tritschler rode to a tie against her opponent with a score of 82. Sophomore Maddy Darst earned the final point of the event with an 83-72 victory.
 
 
Georgia took a 3-2 advantage in Horsemanship. The Bulldogs gave up the first point before claiming the next three. Bailey Anderson and Graysen Stroud remain undefeated in the event with scores of 74 and 72, respectively. Madison Anger earned another point after edging TCU’s Jamie Cook, 73.5-73.
 
 
The Bulldogs held a slight edge over the Horned Frogs after two events, 5-4.
 
 
Georgia extended its lead in Reining, adding three more points. Stroud also remains undefeated in Reining for the season after defeating TCU’s Claire Dittrich, 73.5-72. Freshman Jordan Carpenter pushed the next point with a tie score of 71. Sophomore Annabeth Payne topped Carly Lombard, 70-0, before Julia Spreng slid to a 72.5-72 defeat of Mackenzie Preston to earn MOP honors.
 
 
Georgia rode away with the win in Equitation on the Flat. Grace Bridges started the event with an 80-72 win over TCU’s Emelie Burgess. Sydney Hutchins rode to earn MOP honors after scoring an 83 to better Carley Barnett’s 74. Senior Addyson Cord and junior Maddie Newman earned the final two points of the day with scores of 80 and 76, respectively.

The Bulldogs are back at home on Friday, November 3 for an SEC showdown against South Carolina. That meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
