What life lessons did you learn while at UGA?
“The greatest lesson I learned at UGA is the importance of mentorship and investing in others. I was very fortunate to have been a part of the Leonard Leadership Scholars Program in the Terry College of Business. This program not only provided valuable classroom experiences but allowed me to meet Earl Leonard. Mr. Leonard’s personal mentorship and involvement in my career is one of the greatest factors in my success. He challenged me to take risks and choose a job out of college that would provide the best experience and not the largest paycheck.”
What professor did you most admire (and why)?
“Dr. Chuck Bullock. Dr. Bullock’s style of teaching was engaging and impactful. He didn’t just share information but allowed you to become part of the experience. Dr. Bullock is a legend in Georgia and the impact of his teaching will have a lasting impact on the state.”
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
“I am most proud of my work in opening Delta Hall in Washington DC. The opportunity to not only work for my alma mater as Director of Federal Relations but to oversee the opening of the first permanent facility in Washington was amazing. The work that will outlast you is always the most meaningful and to see 32 students move in and out of Delta Hall every semester to work on Capitol Hill or in a federal agency or a global non-profit is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had.”
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
“Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln’s ability to lead during one of the most divided and challenging times in our country should give us all hope and a renewed belief in the greatness of America.”
Who are your heroes in real life?
“During my short time at Lockheed Martin, I have been fortunate to interact with the men and woman of our armed forces on a regular basis … there are no greater hero’s to me than those that put their life on the line every single day to provide security and freedom for the rest of us.”
Quote to live by:
“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He/She is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things” Ronald Reagan
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
“Any day spent at the beach with good friends, great music, and a cold beverage.”
What is your most marked characteristic?
“Persistence.”
What do you most value in your friends?
“Loyalty and the ability to provide constructive criticism.”
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
“My golf swing and receding hairline.”
Who are your favorite writers (and why)?
“Enjoy autobiographies, always appreciate the opportunity to learn professional and life lessons directly from someone else’s experiences.”
Fave social media and who to follow (and why)?
“Brian Robinson for all things Georgia Politics and Georgia Football. It’s never boring and always delivered in the most direct way. @LordTinsdale“
