Men’s Tennis: Georgia Slotted With Michigan in 2019 ITA Kick-Off

The University of Georgia men’s tennis team will head to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kick-Off Weekend. The Bulldogs found out their fate during Wednesday’s ITA Kick-Off draft.

Joining Georgia in Ann Arbor at one of the marquee regular-season events in collegiate tennis will be Michigan, Baylor and NC State. No. 3 seed Georgia will take on No. 2 seed Baylor in the first round, while the one versus four matchup features the Wolverines and Wolfpack.

The event, which serves to lift the curtain on the spring season each year, will take place Jan. 25-28, 2019 at the Varsity Tennis Center on the Michigan campus. Sixty men’s and sixty women’s teams will be competing across the country for the right to qualify for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

The 15 men’s and 15 women’s universities hosting ITA Kick-Off Weekend events were designated as host sites in order of their year-end 2018 ITA team ranking. Three visiting schools will travel to each host site for a four-team tournament. The host school will meet the No. 4 seed, the No. 2 seed will play the No. 3 seed and the winners will come back to play for a berth at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
