Max Johnson

CLASS: 2020

POSITION: PRO QB

HT, WT: 6-3.5 214

SCHOOL: Oconee County High School

CITY, STATE: Watkinsville, Georgia

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 16 offers

UGA OFFER: Yes, March 21, 2017

NEWS:

Max Johnson is a four-star quarterback from Oconee County High School. He stands at 6-3.5 and weighs 214 pounds. According to 247Sports latest 2020 rankings, Johnson ranks as the No. 51 overall prospect, No. 4 pro-style QB and the No. 8 prospect in Georgia. He competed in the Nike Opening Atlanta Regional too.

Despite being labeled as a pro-style quarterback, it appears he can be quite agile and escape the pocket if need be. Johnson isn’t afraid of pressure and will sling it with a defender rushing towards him. His arm strength is incredible, and I like his ability to tuck it and run if he needs to. Johnson’s spot on with his throws, and he places the ball where only his wideout can grab it. He’s a smart quarterback and has a high football IQ. Any team would be lucky to snag this quarterback at the next level because he just gets better as he gets older.

Johnson currently holds 16 offers and I expect that to double before the end of his junior season. The latest offer came from Tennessee on June 23. Johnson picked up a string of offers fom Michigan State on May 25 and Ohio Stae on May 8.  He recently visited Miami for camp on June 16. I expect Johnson to be one of the most sought-after quarterbacks for the 2020 class, and it to come down to Georgia and Miami.

Harrison Bailey

CLASS: 2020

POSITION: PRO QB

HT, WT: 6-5, 228

SCHOOL: Marietta High School

CITY, STATE: Marietta, Georgia

STATUS: Undeclared

# OF OFFERS: 20 offers

UGA OFFER: Yes, October 22, 2016

NEWS:

Harrison Bailey is a four-star quarterback from Marietta, Georgia. He stands at 6-5 228 pounds and runs a 5.07 forty-yard dash. Bailey ranks as the No. 38 overall player, No. 2 pro-style QB and the No. 6 prospect in Georgia. He competed in the Nike Opening Atlanta Regional. Last season he threw for 2,812 yards on 208 completions for 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

He has a heck of an arm, and can chunk it down the field with ease. Bailey isn’t afraid to sit in the pocket and make a decision. However, he doesn’t have quite the movement outside of the pocket that other quarterbacks do. Bailey’s a true pro-style quarterback, as his best stuff comes from the pocket. He’s got a high football IQ, and puts the ball in perfect places for his wideouts. Bailey sees the field well, and seems to have a great group of receivers around him. He’s got to make better decisions at time and seems to force balls into places. But with the right development, he’s going to make a great quarterback at the next level.

Bailey holds 20 offers, with the latest coming from Purdue on May 10. He recently took a visit toTennessee on June 22. Prior to that he went to Ohio State on June 5 and Michigan on June 4. It appears to be between Michigan, Alabama and Florida for this quarterback, but its still wide open in my opinion. Bailey’s got the talent to make noise at the next level wherever he decides to play.
