TODAY’S FEATURED PROSPECTS
We are officially a week away from Georgia’s first game of the 2018 season. Recruiting picked up during July and has since slowed down for August. Granted, players have to prepare for their high school football seasons. However, I expect Georgia to host a lot of prospects this fall and for the recruiting staff to be each home game. Today’s post is more of an opinion piece. The first is three names to look out for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes. These three names are some guys that I expect Georgia to observe. Next are two questions about the 2019 class and finally one prediction.
Again, this piece is an opinion piece and speculation about Georgia football recruiting. It doesn’t mean that any of this will happen.

Two Questions
Does Georgia take two running backs in the 2019 class now that Zamir White is out for the season?
As we all know, Zamir White tore his left ACL during Georgia’s scrimmage on August 18. Since then a buzz about whether or not Georgia will take another back for the 2019 class. However, I don’t think that’ll be the case at all. Georgia has other areas of need than another running back. Now for the 2020 class, I do think Georgia will take two backs. For the 2019 class, I expect Georgia to stick with John Emery Jr from Louisianna. Now, if god-forbid, another running back goes down with an injury, the Bulldogs may pick up someone else, but for now, no chance at all.
What is the likelihood of Georgia flipping someone by National Signing Day?
The likelihood of Georgia flipping someone by National Signing Day is highly probable. Georgia missed out on DJ Daniel to South Carolina, and there seems to be a reason for that. There are a few guys that were at one point high on Georgia’s list committed elsewhere. However, if the team they’re committed to tanks or if Georgia continues its success, then kids may reconsider the Bulldogs.
Some names to keep eyes out for in the flip instance are Harry Miller who is committed to Ohio State. Auburn commit, Owen Pappoe is another name, but until his name signs that paper, he could always be considered on flip watch. Those are two names to keep an eye out for, along with Kardell Thomas, Zacch Pickens, Chris Hinton, Nathan Pickering, and Marquez Beason, Quinton Newsome, and Kyle Hamilton. All these guys have been associated with Georgia slightly or a lot, and if things don’t go well for the schools, they’re committed to, who knows what could happen. Regardless, like Georgia did last season, I expect someone to flip in the Bulldogs favor.
One Prediction
- This prediction is a bold prediction, but I enjoy taking risks sometimes. My prediction is, if Georgia goes undefeated into the SEC Championship game and gives the SEC West opponent one heck of a game, or wins back-to-back championships, the Bulldogs could end up with another No. 1 overall recruiting class. If the Bulldogs win that game, in my opinion, Georgia lands Nakobe Dean and Clay Webb. These two guys are the biggest left on the board, and if Georgia proves they can beat Alabama or the SEC West again, their decisions should be easy. However, if the Bulldogs lose in a close game, I think only one of the two comes to Athens. Either way, I believe Georgia ends up with Dean or Webb, and that’s the worst case scenario.
