Savannah’s Offense Report
— Terry Godwin practiced with a small brace and had a piece of Kinesio tape on the knee he hurt. He ran through drills without any problems it seemed.
— Kearis Jackson and Jayson Stanley participated without any issues. The two took every rep with the group as they worked on quick catches and routes.
— Jake Fromm and Justin Fields worked along with the other quarterbacks on footwork drills and some other technical stuff.
— Dell McGee had his running backs working on staying low and ball security with a chute. D’Andre Swift, Elijah Holyfield, and James Cook all got knocked around and pushed hard to hold onto the ball.
— Coach Jim Chaney had the tight ends along with a couple of the tackles work on a drill where they pulled the tackle to pick up the block. The drill appeared to be an attempt to pull the linebacker inside. They worked on that drill the entire time the media was out there.
— John Theus was at practice today helping Chaney work through drills. He’s back on campus to finish his degree.
Steve’s Defense Report
— Kirby was with the defensive backs working them hard. Had them working on a bump and run against the receivers. The secondary will be the most important position group to watch Saturday against South Carolina.— Tyrique McGhee was on the bike today instead of participating in drills. I would expect him to play, and I don’t think that his injury is anything serious.
— Divaad Wilson continues to do individual work. I see him every day just trotting along the sidelines/IPF/end zone but have yet to see him participate in drills.
— Jonathan Ledbetter was reported to have injured his ankle Tuesday in practice but was out there today participating in drills. He did have an ankle brace on his right knee. He was favoring his ankle a little bit, and I would expect Smart to have him as a game-time decision.
— Jordan Davis was in a scout jersey on Tuesday during practice but today that wasn’t the case. He may get a trip to Columbia now that Ledbetter may not be 100%.
