Georgia kicked off their 2019 college football season yesterday and with a win under their belt and the mong of September before them, what is the status of the Bulldogs’ 2020 recruiting class?
UGA has 17 commitments so far for the class of 2020.
Carson Beck | 4-star QB | 6-foot-4.5 | 226 lbs | Jacksonville, FL
Joshua Braun | 4-star OT | 6-foot-6 | 335 lbs | Live Oak, FL
Warren Brinson | 4-star DT | 6-foot-4.5 | 299 lbs | IMG Academy, FL
Jamil Burroughs | 4-star DT | 6-foot-2 | 330 lbs | Powder Springs, GA
Jalen Carter | 4-star DT | 6-foot-4 | 301 lbs | Apopka, FL
Broderick Jones | 5-star OT | 6-foot-5 | 275 lbs | Lithonia, GA
Jalen Kimber | 4-star CB | 6-foot-0 | 170 lbs | Arlington, TX
Chad Lindberg | 4-star OT | 6-foot-6.5 | 327 lbs | League City, TX
Kendall Milton | 5-star RB | 6-foot-1.5 | 229 lbs | Clovis, CA
Tate Ratledge | 4-star OT | 6-foot-6 | 322 lbs | Rome, GA
Justin Robinson | 3-star WR | 6-foot-4 | 200 lbs | McDonough, GA
Marcus Rosemy | 4-star WR | 6-foot-2 | 195 lbs | Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Mekhail Sherman | 5-star OLB | 6-foot-3 | 234 lbs | Washington D.C.
Nazir Stackhouse | 4-star DT | 6-foot-3.5 | 306 lbs | Decatur, GA
Sedrick Van Pran | 4-star OC | 6-foot-4 | 305 lbs | New Orleans, LA
Corey Wren | 3-star ATH | 5-foot-9 | 170 lbs | New Orleans, LA
Jared Zirkel | 3-star K | 6-foot-3 | 185 lbs | Kerrville, TX
Those seventeen commits have Georgia at No. 5 in the 247Sports 2020 Football Team Rankings nationally and No. 3 in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama currently holds the No. 1 spot in the SEC and LSU No. 2, but both the Tide and the Tigers have 23 commitments apiece, which is six more than the Bulldogs.
Who is UGA’s next commit?
5-star defensive end Jordan Burch out of Columbia, SC; 5-star running back Zachary Evans out of Houston, TX; 4-star tight end Theo Johnson out of Windsor, Ontario; 5-star cornerback Kelee Ringo out of Scottsdale, AZ; 5-star linebacker Noah Sewell out of Orem, UT; 4-star speedy wide receiver Arian Smith out of Lakeland, FL; 4-star defensive end Zykeivous Walker out of Ellaville, GA; or 5-star tight end Darnell Washington out of Las Vegas, NV. Any of those prospects have the potential to announce their decision this fall, and I would not be surprised if Georgia gets a commitment from one of those eight prospects this coming week.
How many will Georgia sign for 2020?
That is a loaded question to some degree because it depends on how many scholarship spots will be available in 2020, but my best educated guess would be no less than 23 and no more than 25.
When can prospective student-athlete sign?
The Early Signing Period for the 2020 class is between December 18-20, 2019 and National Signing Day is on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
