The University of Georgia has five offensive line commits for the 2020 recruiting class currently and one of those five is Lithonia, GA’s Broderick Jones. The 6-foot-5 and 275 lbs Jones committed to the Bulldogs towards the end of his junior year back in April of 2018.
He is rated a 5-star prospect by 247Sports and the No. 2 OT, the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia, and the No. 20 overall recruit in the country. Rivals rates Broderick a 4-star prospect, the No. 4 OT, the No. 5 player from the Peach State, and the No. 29 recruit nationally overall.
Will Broderick take any official visits this fall?
While he hasn’t scheduled all of his official visits as of yet, Jones has set a date for Georgia which will be the weekend the Bulldogs host Notre Dame on September 21st. He’ll join a star-studded list of recruiting prospects in Athens for that weekend. As far as the other four officials are concerned, he will probably take one to Auburn and one to South Carolina as well.
Should fans be worried about Broderick de-committing if he takes official visits to other programs?
While I’m fond of saying that until a prospect signs with a program or enrolls, he is fair game to commit anywhere. Jones looks to sign in December after taking his official visits, and as of right now, I don’t see him wavering from UGA.
Senior season underway…
Jones started his senior season journey with Lithonia last Thursday when the Bulldogs went on the road, opening their high school football season with a 63-0 curb-stomping of Forest Park on August 22. Lithonia played their second game of the season Friday night hosting Redan.
Highlights, highlights, highlights…
