Georgia comes into the Auburn ranked in the top-four of the College Football Playoff rankings and a win to clinch their third SEC Eastern Division title in a row. The Tigers would like nothing more to play the spoiler; so, how will this one pan out? The Bulldawg Illustrated staff have your score predictions for the 124th rendition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

“Ugly game dictated by strong defense from the dawgs and Auburn’s defense holding well. Georgia stops the Auburn run game making the War Eagle-Tigers one dimensional, Georgia offense and special teams slightly better to eke out the win and the dawgs punch their ticket to the SEC Championship game! Dawgs win 21-13.”

Josh Hancher: Georgia 27 – Auburn 17

“Auburn has the best Defense in the country when adjusted for opponent, according to Ed Feng at the Power Rank. Tigers are allowing 4.75 Yards Per Play for the season. Dawgs are allowing only 4.32 YPP this season. Dawgs have held Mizzou and Kentucky under 4 yards per play and Gators to just 5.35 YPP.”

“The noise in Jordan Hare is going to be at an all-time high and the energy electric, but I’m confident the dawgs can clinch a win with (Lawrence) Cager reeling in some more clutch passes. I want to be at that SEC championship game! 21-14 Dawgs.”

“As already stated by several of BI’s best, both defenses on the field in Jordan-Hare on Saturday will be world-class. The difference should be comparing Jake Fromm and Bo Nix. 3-year gamer versus game 10. I’m taking my next-door neighbor to slice and dice Aubie with precision. Dawgs 20 Tigers 10.”

Lance McCurley: Georgia 24 – Auburn 13

“We all know what happened the last time Georgia played in Auburn, but I think Kirby finally gets his first win against the West in the regular season. Georgia’s offensive line plays up to expectations, and Fromm has a stellar performance.  Georgia 24 Auburn 13.”

Bob Miller: Georgia 17 – Auburn 13

“Have your heart pills and defibrillator on hand because this is going to be one of those games when it comes to the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalries. Two really good defenses are going to trade blows for four quarters with the opposing offenses, but just like the Florida game, if the Dawgs don’t turn the ball over, they will come out on top. Georgia over Auburn 17-13.”

Matthew Pasek: Georgia 24 – Auburn 13

“I have heard a theory promoted on National TV/Radio that if Auburn beats both UGA and Alabama to close the season they can stake a claim to be included in The Playoffs.  The Auburn fan base is delusional enough to believe that so Jordan-Hare will be rocking.  It will be a slugfest but Georgia’s depth on the offensive line wears down the Auburn defensive line and D’Andre Swift breaks a couple of long runs in the 2nd Half.  Georgia 24 – Auburn 13.”

“I am expecting an old fashioned SEC slobber knocker on the Plains Saturday night. Look for UGA to continue its strategy of grinding opponents with the power running game and going over the top to back Auburn out of the box. Success depends on receivers getting open against man coverage and Auburn’s defense wearing down in the second half – both will happen:

“If you’re looking for high-scoring football games, better not come to Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday afternoon. That’s because Georgia’s defense leads the SEC in nearly every defensive category and is No. 2 in the nation in scoring defense, surrendering just 10.1 points per game. And Auburn is supposed to own the top defensive front in the country, led by All-Americans Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson. Of course, the Tigers had this same defense last season when the Bulldogs hammered out 303 rushing yards with D’Andre Swift running for a career-high 186 in Georgia’s 27-10 win in Athens. But, on the Plains, it will surely be tougher for the UGA offense come Saturday. I see each team getting two touchdowns with “Hot Rod” Blankenship being the difference with two clutch field goals. So make it 20-14 Dawgs with Kirby’s guys punching their ticket to Atlanta once again!”
