Kevin Butler, one of the greatest players in Georgia and Chicago Bears history, gives us his players of the game every week. A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, the University’s Circle of Honor, and a Super Bowl Champion, Butler serves as co-host of Dawg Talk and the Bulldog Brunch from the Hilltop Grille.— Compiled by Jeff Dantzler

OFFENSE- Zamir White               From Laurinburg, North Carolina, Zamir continued to be the bright spot on a one-dimensional offense. Zamir‘s attitude should be contagious to an offense struggling to find an identity. Zamir once again led the offense with 107 yards on seven carries, highlighted by a 75-yard sprint on the first play of the game to give the Bulldogs an early lead. Take away the 75 yards and Zamir was still averaging over five yards per carry. Unfortunately, we did not see enough of Zeus Saturday to help the Dogs win, but he continues to get stronger and stronger as the year goes on. One Damn Good Dawg.

DEFENSE – Youth  In a loss to Florida, sometimes it’s hard to find a player that stood out in a struggling setback. As I reviewed the game, I feel like the defensive player of the game this week is the “next man up”. Yes, the next man up by committee. Georgia has suffered a tremendous blow with multiple injuries on defense and many players have prepared themselves to be “the next man up.” Saturday that opportunity came to Cine, Carter, Logue, Norton and Burns and they took the step forward. This is the future of the Dawgs and the future is here … now … November 2020!

Special Player – Kearis Jackson The Fort Valley flyer continues to be a threat as a return specialist for the Bulldogs in 2020. The Bulldogs rely on Kearis not only at receiver but he sets the pace for the offense, returning kickoffs and punts. Jackson is a sure-handed punt returner and his explosive speed on kickoffs continues to set the offense up in an aggressive position. Kearis is ranked near the top in return yards and is a great weapon for the Dawgs!
