MTENNIS: Three Bullgos Earn NCAA Bids
Trent Bryde

University of Georgia men’s tennis student-athletes Trent Bryde, Philip Henning and Tyler Zink earned bids to the 2021 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, it was announced Tuesday evening.

Each of the three Bulldogs garnered spots in the singles championship, with Bryde seeded 9-16. The Suwanee, Ga., native is Georgia’s highest ranked singles and doubles player with a No. 14 ranking in singles and a No. 5 mark in doubles.

Bryde and Zink will represent Georgia in doubles, earning a No. 5-8 national seed. The 2020 ITA All-Americans form one of the top tandems in the nation with a No. 5 ranking and a 8-4 dual-match record. Four of those eights wins have come against ranked foes.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 17-22. The University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.

This week, Georgia opens the NCAA tournament by hosting the first and second rounds in Athens. The action begins Saturday at 1 p.m., when the Bulldogs host East Tennessee State. Ticket information and a full schedule for this weekend’s event are below.
