Georgia tallied one doubles wins and six Bulldogs notched singles victories on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Georgia Invitational.

Graduate Morgan Coppoc, senior Meg Kowalski, junior Lea Ma, and Ania Hertel, and freshmen Mai Nirundorn and Mell Reasco all notched singles victories on day two. No. 15 Kowalski faced the No. 9 Freshman/Newcomer in Princeton’s Victoria Hu. After dropping the first set 3-6, Kowalski rallied to win sets two and three 6-4, 6-3 and claim the victory. No. 19 Ma defeated Central Florida’s No. 80 Evgeniya Levashova in a tight straight-set match, 7-6(7), 6-4, while No. 66 Coppoc beat Princeton’s Stephanie Schrage in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. 

Hertel and Nirundorn rebounded on day two. Hertel jumped on Central Florida’s Marie Mattel in a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory, while Nirundorn topped Central Florida’s Anique Kattenberg in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Reasco, the nation’s No. 4 freshman/newcomer continued her dominance, defeating Princeton’s No. 104 Brianna Shvets in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

Alee Clayton dropped a tight match to Princeton’s Neha Velaga, 6-4, 7-6(5).

In doubles, one tandem of Bulldogs claimed a victory. The duo of Clayton and Reasco topped Central Florida’s Kattenberg and Leslie, 8-5. 

The Bulldogs will be back in action Sunday, Oct. 24 for the final day of the Georgia Invitation. Singles play is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. ET.
