DAWG BONES OFFENSE – EVEN

This is a matchup of efficiency versus sheer numbers. While Tennessee has put up more yards per game, Georgia’s offense has scored more points per game. Quarterback Hendon Hooker has taken the Volunteers’ offense to new levels this year and they have executed more explosive plays then in previous years. Stetson Bennett appears to be Georgia’s starter going forward and is coming off of a stellar performance against Mizzou. This matchup is pretty even with explosive players on both perimeters.

DAWG BONES DEFENSE – GEORGIA

You know the answer to this one by now. Georgia’s defense once again allowed under 14 points, which they have done in every game so far this season. Through nine games the Georgia defense has only allowed 52 total points, which does not count the defensive touchdown for UAB. There does not seem to be a flaw on the defensive side, but yet Georgia players say there is plenty of room to improve. Tennessee’s offense should be the toughest challenge remaining for Georgia’s defense.

DAWG BONES SPECIAL TEAMS – GEORGIA

The special teams highlight of the game was Nolan Smith’s blocked punt that nearly resulted in a touchdown. That was Georgia’s second blocked punt of the season. Georgia allowed one long punt return against Mizzou, but other than that they won the special teams battle again. Kicker Jack Podlesny made both of his field goal attempts as well. Tennessee kicker Chase McGrath has made nine of his 12 field goal attempts this season.

DAWG BONES COACHING – GEORGIA

Even in a 37-point win over Mizzou, Kirby Smart said that his team was “subpar.” That is how high the standard has been set at Georgia. Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has done a great job in his first season in Knoxville, inspiring his team to play close against Ole Miss and Alabama, and a win over Kentucky. Georgia’s coaching staff is one of the best in the country right now, so they take this category, but things are starting to trend in the right direction for the Vols.

DAWG BONES OVERALL – GEORGIA

There is too much at stake in this game for Georgia to slip up. A Bulldogs win would mean an undefeated SEC regular season as the Dawgs get ready to head to Atlanta in a few weeks. Tennessee is coming off of a big win against Kentucky, but it was a physical game that could wear the Vols down. Smart talked about the atmosphere that Tennessee fans will bring, so expect Georgia to be ready for their last real test of the regular season.
