3 – Touchdowns from New Dawgs

Colbie Young, Nate Frazier and London Humphreys were three players to score a touchdown in their first game as a Georgia Bulldog. Young, a transfer from Miami, scored the first touchdown for the Bulldogs right after halftime. Frazier, the freshman running back from Santa Ana, California, was Georgia’s leading rusher with 83 yards on 11 attempts with his lone rushing touchdown. Humphreys, a former Vanderbilt wide receiver, broke off for a 40-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to be the third and final new Dawg to find the endzone against the Tigers.

0 – Touchdowns Allowed

The Bulldogs defense was relentless against Clemson’s offensive attack, allowing zero touchdowns in 60 minutes of play. The Tigers got inside Georgia’s 10-yard line once, but stalled out at the nine-yard line and settled for three, which proved to be a huge stop for keeping the momentum in favor of the Dawgs. The last time Georgia opened against Clemson and didn’t allow a touchdown, they went on to be national champions for the first time in 41 years.

55 – New Career Long for Peyton Woodring

Sophomore kicker Peyton Woodring nailed a 55-yard field goal. The returning starter’s previous collegiate career-long was a 48-yarder last season against Missouri. Woodring went two-for-two on field goals in the season opener and had all of the Dawgs’ points in the first half of the game. This marks the longest field goal for Georgia since Rodrigo Blankenship hit a 55-yarder of his own against Oklahoma in the 2018 Rose Bowl Game.

278 – Passing Yards for Carson Beck

Beck did all he needed to do in Georgia’s opening game. With a commanding 70 percent completion rate, Beck completed 23 passes for 278 yards and two TDs. The first half consisted of a lot of short plays and RPOs, but things started to heat up after halftime. The Dawgs had four touchdowns in the second half. Saturday against Tennessee Tech, Beck looks to improve his statline in the amount of playtime he’s given. The expectation is that Gunner Stockton will replace him in the third or fourth quarter. Therefore, Beck will be able to focus on the challenging road SEC opener in Lexington.
