Asia Avinger (Guard #1) – A senior transfer from San Diego State, Avinger started in every game of the 2023-24 season in her first year at Georgia. Now, she’s a leader of this team both on the floor and off. She’s averaging 13.2 points per game and 3.5 assists per game, the most among the Lady Dogs in both categories. With a threat that can score but also distribute the ball, Coach ABE will lean on her Swiss Army knife Avinger to turn things around from last season.
Mia Woolfolk (Forward #33) – The freshman star played 19 minutes before getting hurt in Georgia’s first game, a 96-52 win over North Carolina Central. She scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds in her debut. The injury timeline looks to have Woolfolk back next month. A healthy forward down low with Woolfolk’s return will be a huge boost for the Lady Dawgs as they get into Southeastern Conference play.
Trinity Turner (Guard #0) – Another promising freshman, Turner is a quick guard with tremendous upside as a shooter but a tenacious defender as well. She leads the Lady Dawgs with 11 steals through their first four games. Turner is reminiscent of the great Lady Dog Que Morrison, a sneaky baller.
Roxanne Makolo (Guard #12) – The senior transfer from USC looks to break into the SEC as a standout portal pick-up for Coach ABE. Makolo is a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo and moved to Saint Hubert, Quebec when she was five. She speaks three languages! Her journey around the globe is impressive and she’s looking to leave her mark on Athens.
Amiya Evans (Forward #30) – Evans has taken a huge step in this early time of the 2024-25 campaign as opposed to where she was last season. The 6’2 junior is a threat in the paint as she has already accumulated two double-doubles on the season. She will be a work horse on both sides of the ball for Coach ABE, but the spotlight is no stranger to Evans as her father was an NBA player himself, Reggie Evans.
