This game-winning touchdown run by running back Josh McCray sealed the deal for Georgia. After a back-and-forth contest that tested their toughness, the Bulldogs put the ball in the hands of McCray and trusted the offensive line to finish it at the goal line. That physicality is what defines Georgia football. Against Alabama, the ability to push the pile and win short-yardage situations will be vital. If the Bulldogs can close drives with the same authority they showed in overtime, they’ll give themselves a real chance to control the game’s tempo.  

2- Interceptions by Joenel Aguero and KJ Bolden

These interceptions were game-changers against Tennessee. The Volunteers had big plays through the air, but Georgia’s defense responded by forcing turnovers that swung momentum. Alabama’s passing attack is a different kind of challenge, with explosive receivers and a quarterback who can extend plays. Turnovers will be the turning point. If Georgia’s secondary can make plays on the ball like they did in Knoxville, they can offset some of the damage Alabama’s offense is capable of doing. 

9- Wins over Tennessee 

Georgia’s nine consecutive wins against the Volunteers underscore their dominance in this rivalry, and more importantly, their ability to rise to the challenge in big moments. Even on a day when they trailed multiple times, the Bulldogs extended the streak. That resilience matters because Alabama, much like Tennessee, won’t go away quietly. The streak is also a reminder that Georgia, under Kirby Smart, has built a culture of consistency and composure in the SEC’s toughest environments. The challenge in Athens with the Tide rolling in will be even bigger, but Georgia has proven that it can handle the weight of SEC pressure.

Placekicker Peyton Woodring gave Georgia reliability in special teams, a part of the game often overlooked until it decides outcomes. In a matchup that could easily come down to one or two possessions, every kick matters. Woodring’s perfect night in a pressure-packed road environment is encouraging as the Bulldogs prepare for another high-stakes game against Alabama.

502 total yards of offense on 87 plays showed how balanced and efficient this unit can be. With 304 passing yards and 198 rushing yards, the Bulldogs kept Tennessee guessing. That balance will be critical against Alabama, a team that can shut down the offense real quick. If Georgia can sustain drives and spread the ball around the way they did in Knoxville, it gives them a blueprint to break through Alabama’s tough defense.
