Josh Conner of the Georgia Bulldogs Radio Network joins us this week to talk Georgia football. Josh is a frequent talk show guest, and once was a co-host with yours truly. He is very talented as a broadcaster, engineer, writer and photographer, wearing many hats in the sports world. Josh and his wife of 14 years, Rachel, are the parents of four children: Andrew 13, Charlie 11, Maddux 6, and Grayson 3.
What do you love about this Georgia team?
The 2025 Georgia Football team is one of the most entertaining Dawg teams that I can remember. Every snap reveals their tenacity and character which is found directly from their head coach, Kirby Smart. This team is never out of any game they play. They play until the final whistle and some games have required just that. Whether Gunner Stockton is under center or back in the gun, this team rallies around the grit of their QB1.
Being a younger (36, lucky Dawg) Georgia fan, talk about the impact of Kirby Smart on this generation of Bulldogs.
Kirby Smart showed what the University of Georgia was always capable of doing, competing and winning National Championships. I saw a lot of winning in the early 2000s but I also saw so many painful losses against Florida, Auburn, and Tech. Kirby has been a master of recruiting the great state of Georgia and then cherry picking the elite of the elite from around the country to build year over year a championship contender. It is truly calming knowing every Saturday Georgia is going into the game with a coaching advantage.
What is your favorite Kevin Butler story?
Getting to know Kevin over the years has truly been an honor and a privilege. He is a wonderful husband, father, and co-host. Some of the best stories I will keep between the radio crew, but I love hearing Kevin talk about his extra point shattering a locker room window in Starkville. Bonus memory of him talking about the fan leaping from the stands to catch his kick on Monday Night Football.
What do you like best about working with the Bulldog Radio Network?
Working with you (Jeff) and Kevin is a tremendous joy. I love watching them riff off each other and interact with the fans at Hotel Indigo or out at Tate Plaza. They both love Georgia Football but they love putting together a fun, unique, and informative show to the greatest football fans this side of the Mississippi.
Who were your favorite Bulldogs growing up?
I know I was a little bit older, but I was a running back guy so watching Knowshon Moreno and Todd Gurley run through, around, or over people in and out of Sanford Stadium was something I’ll never forget.
What’s the score Saturday vs. Charlotte?
Senior day as well as the last game before the big one at the Benz. Hopefully Georgia can get some good work in and earn the opportunity to play some other guys that also work hard in practice. Final score: Dawgs 45-17.
