No. 3 Georgia defeats No. 9 Alabama 28-7 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the program’s second consecutive SEC title and 16th all-time.

Cole Speer’s blocked punt set up a Georgia touchdown by running back Roderick Robinson II with 4:36 remaining in the first quarter. This was Robinson’s first touchdown of the season. 

The Bulldogs took a two-touchdown advantage into the locker room after Dillon Bell scored a touchdown on a 5-yard catch with 8:43 left in the half. 

Alabama’s lone touchdown came in the third quarter when Ty Simpson found Germie Bernard for a 23-yard touchdown to make the score 21-7. Simpson finished the game with 212 passing yards and a season-low -28 rushing yards. 

Coach DeBoer elected to go for a fourth-down conversion on the Alabama 12-yard line with 8:17 remaining in the game, but failed to convert. 

Gunner Stockton finished the game with 156 passing yards and three touchdowns, including a game-sealing touchdown pass to Zachariah Branch in the fourth quarter.
