    Key Quotes

Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson

    On tonight’s performance…

“You’re going to get a game where you hit a lot of balls hard, and they all go for you. Tre (Phelps) lines out there in the third, but we have to do a better job of runners in scoring position. We were 2-for-14 today with runners in scoring position, and we have to do a better job when we get them in there. That’s going to be the difference in a game like this. When you really look at things, we have six games in six days. We did that for a reason. We did that to test and to stretch our players. You want to win them all. We’re trying to win them all, but we learned a lot today.”

     #3 Daniel Jackson | Jr. | C/OF

    On his first-career grand slam

“Honestly, I didn’t really know if it was going to get out or not, but I knew I had a chance. I knew at the very least it was going to get a runner in, but it was obviously better that it got out.”

Key Quote:
Georgia Head Coach Tony Baldwin
On the game…
“I’m proud of the team effort. When you look at the score and the run rule, it’s going to have the appearance that it was an easy game when it was anything but. I thought Georgia State really competed, and they played good softball. It took some moments where we had to really dig in, and we had some quality at-bats when we needed to. I thought Ada [Little] really calmed things down and took control of the game from the circle. Defensively, we settled in and ultimately put bat to ball.”
