Offensive player of the game
Gunner Stockton – The senior quarterback showed us once again why he could be the most valuable player on this 2026 bulldog team. His stats were simple 25-of-32 for 295 yards with three touchdowns, while gaining 29 yards on seven carries. Gunner led the Bulldogs offense to a yet another productive Saturday Between the Hedges. His leadership truly showed in the game against Vandy on Saturday. Whether he was running, throwing off balance, directing players on the field and producing scores through the air and on the ground, Gunner was nothing but stellar. His touch was perfect Saturday, and it never showed more than his perfect pass to Dwight Phillips, Jr. that resulted in a review that took the Dawgs to 1 yard-line. Then Gunner led the offense to yet another second half touchdown. His performance was pretty much summed up with possession and points, which described the second half for the Bulldogs offense. Gunner is certainly in the race for the Heisman Trophy.
Defensive player of the game
KJ Bolton – The junior from Buford High School demonstrated why he was Kirby‘s focus in his recruiting class. Seven solo tackles led the Georgia defense against a nasty Vandy offense that does not know the term “give up.” Vandy fought back in the first half and KJ limited their success through his controlled nastiness on the turf with excellent tackling. KJ is one of the best safeties in the nation and certainly a true leader on a defense. When you have Raylen Wilson, Chris Cole, Jordon Hall and Justin Williams in front of you and you make seven tackles, you’ve had one hell of a game. That kind of performance solidifies the defensive player of the game against Vandy. Get ready KJ the talent steps up this week in Tuscaloosa. Be the Dawg we know you are and beat Bama.
Special team player of the game
It’s always fun when one of the big boys in the trenches makes the special team play of the game and this week Jordon Hall made that play by pushing and leaping in the air to block a 58-yard field goal attempt by Vandy that would have sparked the Commodores early in the game. We don’t give the credit to the boys in the trenches as much as we should, but when Jordon blocked a field goal, those are plays that change the game and change the attitude of the team that just had their field goal blocked. The crowd went crazy. Jordon ran off the field and when your defense blocks a field goal or a punt, it’s awfully hard to come back from that and Vandy learned the hard way. What a great effort from Jordon for making a little play – a huge play in an SEC victory. Work on that jump this week Jordon because we could use a few more blocked extra points and field goals against the Crimson Tide. Jordon is a beast and a beast make plays. Go Dawgs, Beat Bama!
