After missing out on a promising year last year, the pressure is on the Dawgs to get back to Atlanta. They came close, only needing one more loss from Missouri, and they would’ve been in. However, close is not going to cut it for us Dawg fans. This year, at the very least, the Dawgs need to represent the East in the Georgia Dome. It won’t be easy though with up and coming teams in the East, like that orange team up north, on our schedule. And don’t forget about the Alabama Crimson Tide coming to Athens this September! It will be a challenge, but these improving Dawgs sure have a chance to make a run in the East, but they will need a good quarterback to do it.

     The Dawgs have been unpredictable the last few years. From suspensions to transfers to injuries to guys that just seem like they don’t want to play… Isaiah Crowell. One thing we haven’t had for a while is a weak spot at the Quarterback position. This year’s biggest question is who will arise as Georgia’s next big Quarterback.

      Is it Brice Ramsey, the man with the most college experience? He had his ups and downs in the Belk Bowl vs. Louisville. He only threw four completions in his nine attempts, with one interception and two dropped ones. He saw his success this season though like the Kentucky game. He threw 5/5 with 1 touchdown and 80 yards. This balanced quarterback fits some of the characteristics of Aaron Murray. Let’s remember Murray wasn’t perfect by any means to start. So last year could mean nothing.

Is it the one with speed, Junior Faton Buata? A lot of people think he could add another dimension to the team. Some think that this 6’3 220 lb. Quarterback is Georgia’s Tim Tebow. Faton along with Nick Chubb in the backfield would be more dangerous, in my opinion, than Dak Prescott and Josh Robinson for Mississippi State or Bo Wallace and Jalen Walton were for Ole Miss near the goal line.

The 3rd man in the race for the spot is Redshirt Freshman Jacob Park. The 4 star recruit in the 2014 recruiting class has already been well accomplished, winning South Carolina’s Mr. Football. He is a pro style Quarterback, so he would probably get to run the plays like Aaron Murray and Mathew Stafford. He can run at times though, as you could see on YouTube. He’s a tall quarterback, which could be effective with all of the tall offensive lineman recruited in this last class. He will be the underdog in the race, but probably my favorite in the race.

 In Mark Richt’s first big Quarterback decision since Aaron Murray’s Freshman year, he’ll have a tough one.
