[su_spacer size=”20″] The awards keep rolling in for the Georgia equestrian team, as the Bulldogs claimed six of a possible eight Rider of the Year awards, including SEC Freshman of the Year honors.Kylee Arbuckle (Equitation on the Flat), Paige Stawicki (Horsemanship) and Lauren Garmon (Reining) were named the Southeastern Conference Riders of the Year. Addyson Cord (Equitation on the Flat), Bailey Anderson (Horsemanship) and Kyndall Harper (Reining) were named as the SEC Freshman Riders of the Year. Head Coach Meghan Boenig rounded out the awards, earning SEC Coach of the Year honors.

 

Arbuckle, a First Team All-American in Equitation on the Flat, was named the SEC Rider of the Year in the event. The Torrance, Calif. native compiled an impressive 12-3 record this season with two MOP awards. Arbuckle earned her second MOP of the season against TCU with a score of 95, which was good enough to hold as the highest score in the Southeastern Conference of all competitions during regular season. Arbuckle also has the most individual victories of any SEC rider of all regular season competitions with eleven.

 

Stawicki earned the honors in Horsemanship, after being named as a NCEA First Team All-American. Stawicki owns an 11-3-1 record on the season with six MOP performances. She was named as the SEC and NCEA Rider of the Month in October after posting a 3-0 record with MOPs on two occasions. Stawicki picked up the SEC Rider of the Month in November with another perfect record of 2-0. Her season-high score of 80.5 came against SEC opponent Texas A&M and is the second-highest score in the SEC of all regular season competitions. She is tied for the most MOP honors of any SEC rider with five, which excludes her MOP-earning performance in the SEC Championship against Auburn

 

Garmon rounds out the Georgia SEC Rider of the Year awards in Reining. She was named to the NCEA First Team All-American after posting an 11-2-1 record this season with two MOP performances. She put up ten individual victories during the regular season, which ties for the most in the SEC of all competitions. Garmon posted a 72 on the road against Baylor and an MOP-earning 70.5 against Kansas State. She earned her second MOP of the season with a score of 69 against SEC opponent Texas A&M.

 

Harper was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team for Georgia. Harper rode to an 8-5 record this season with three MOPs, the most of any Georgia Reining squad member. She was named as the SEC and NCEA Rider of the Month in October after posting a perfect 3-0 record. In her debut performance for Georgia, Harper scored a 73 and was awarded MOP. She rode to a victory against Baylor with a 72 and earned her second MOP award. Her third MOP came against TCU, after she earned a score of 70. Harper is tied for the second-most MOPs in the SEC in all competitions with three.

 

Anderson was named the Freshman of the Year in Horsemanship and was the one of two Bulldogs to earn All-Freshman honors in the event. Anderson rode in all meets for Georgia and amassed an 8-4-3 record with two MOPs. She scored a 74.5 against Auburn on the road, earning MOP honors for the performance. Her season-high of 78 against South Carolina ranks in the top five in the SEC of all competitions.

 

Cord rounded out the Freshman of the Year awards for her performance in Equitation on the Flat. Cord also earned All-Freshman honors after competing in five meets for the Bulldogs, picking up a 2-2-1 record. Cord averaged a score of 80.6. Her season-high score of 86 came against ranked Kansas State, defeating her opponent by 12. She also picked up a point against South Carolina with a score of 81.

 

Boenig was named the SEC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after leading the Bulldogs to their first SEC Championship this past season and a No. 1 national seed for the upcoming NCEA Championships. Under Boenig’s direction, Georgia is the six-time overall NCEA National Champion, including winning last year in Waco, Texas.
