In the cradle of the South, summer football practice is about to begin. Young men from all walks of life and from all different parts of the Country will wake early and work long hours. They will bleed with one another, they will sweat with one another, they will push one another, they will battle one another, and they will count on one another. Students will become teammates…and teammates will become brothers! But, Brendan Douglas won’t believe for one moment the reason his name isn’t 1st on the depth chart is because of his skin tone. Jordan Jenkins won’t raise an eyebrow about the Dawgs’ starting quarterback for being too pale. Fans, young and old, will cheer on their alma mater and take pride in ALL those who have chosen to don their “uniform”. In the South, there is a rich tradition and history. We have had trials and triumphs in our past. Each fan base makes the conscious choice to love and embrace the athletes, coaches, and administrators of their respective schools. So this fall, we will try to beat each other down in pursuit of the ultimate prize! We will focus on race; a race to the top! COLOR will absolutely divide us in the South! But our disdain will be reserved for Orange & Blue or Gold & Navy. And never black or white!
