[su_spacer size=”20″] Nick Saban was asked about the changes at UGA and how Kirby Smart might be involved during his SEC Championship Game teleconference.
[su_spacer size=”40″] Here are excerpts:
[su_quote style=”modern-light” cite=”AL.com” url=”http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2015/11/live_updates_nick_saban_talks_9.html”] Saban says he doesn’t know what the world is coming to in reaction to news of Mark Richt’s firing. Thinks when you win nine games that’s “a pretty good season.” Says people don’t realize some of the other things that go into coaching — like graduating and helping young men — and that he hates to see these kind of things.
[su_spacer size=”20″] Saban on Smart: “I’ve said many times before that Kirby has done a fantastic job for us, and I think he’ll be an excellent head coach.” Says Kirby is very capable of doing all the things necessary to be a head coach.
[su_spacer size=”20″] Saban said he hasn’t gotten any feelers from other schools about his assistants but expects them to come once the season is finished.
[su_spacer size=”20″] Saban on Georgia: “In my opinion, it’s a great institution.” He thinks it’s a really good place to coach and that a coach has an opportunity to win there.
[su_spacer size=”20″] Saban says he believes Smart has had other coaching opportunities in the past but declines to provide further insight.
