The No. 2 Georgia equestrian team closes out its regular season schedule Saturday, March 5, when the team travels to Las Cruces, N.M. to face New Mexico State. The meet is scheduled to start at noon ET.

Georgia enters the meet with a 9-2 overall record, while the Aggies own a 4-6 record.

“We’re very excited to be closing out our regular season at New Mexico State,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “This is our opportunity to close on unfamiliar horses and put one more feather in our cap as we prepare for the post season. Coming off of a very strong month, we look to continue to grow because we know that the SEC Championship is coming up and we need to ride strong.”

Georgia is coming off a double-header at home where the team picked up two wins against No. 8 Fresno State and No. 10 Kansas State. The Bulldogs put on strong performances during both meets, only giving up four points to each team and earning seven of the eight combined total MOP honors.

Additionally, this week Bailey Anderson (Horsemanship) was named NCEA Rider of the Month and SEC Co-Rider of the Month for her performances throughout February. Liza Finsness was named SEC Rider of the Month for Equitation Over Fences.

The Bulldogs and the Aggies have not met since the 2013-14 season, when Georgia handed New Mexico State a 17-3 loss. The Aggies are coming off a bye week, but defeated West Texas A&M 17-2 in its last competition two weeks ago. This season, the Aggies have been ranked as high as ninth, but have since fallen out of the NCEA poll.

Live scoring for the meet will be available via Twitter @UGAEquestrian.
