Georgia had two players named to the 2016 Associated Press All-SEC men’s basketball team. J.J. Frazier and Yante Maten both were named to the third-team All-SEC men’s basketball team by the AP on Monday.
 
 
Last week, Frazier and Maten were named second-team All-SEC in balloting of league coaches.
 
 
J.J. Frazier is a 5 foot 10 and 155 lbs junior guard from Glennville, GA. He led the Bulldogs in scoring at 17.0 points per game, assists at 4.3 per game and steals at 1.5 per game. Earlier this season, he joined G.G. Smith as the only two Georgia players to record 100 assists and fifty 3-pointers in two seasons. In addition, Frazier was named the State of Georgia College Player of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club and earned a spot on the All-SEC Tournament team.
 
 

 
 
Yante Maten is a 6 foot 8 and 280 lbs sophomore forward from Pontiac, Michigan. He is averaging 16.0 PPG and sports team-high averages of 8.0 rebounds per game and 1.8 blocks per game. He also has produced team-best tallies of 28 double-digit scoring outputs, 10 double-figure rebounding performances and nine double-doubles.

The AP SEC Player of the Year is Tyler Ulis, a 5-9 guard from the University of Kentucky, and the SEC Freshman of the Year is Ben Simmons, a 6-10 forward from LSU. Tyler Ulis and Ben Simmons were also unanimous selections by the AP.
 
 
The AP Coach of the Year is Texas A&M’s Billy Kennedy.
 
 

BULLDOGS READY FOR NIT

 
 
Georgia is 19-13 on the year and will host Belmont in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs are one victory shy of their third straight 20-win campaign. Only one other time in UGA’s 110 seasons of basketball have the Bulldogs put together three consecutive 20-win seasons.
 
 
All tickets are $15 and general admission seating. They can be ordered online now, by calling the Athletic Association ticket office 1-877-542-1231 between 8:30 am– 4:30 pm and beginning at 5 pm on the day of the game at the Stegeman Coliseum ticket windows. Seating will be general admission for the First Round of the National Invitational Tournament.
 
 
Basketball Enhancement Fund contributors will receive priority on seating in Sections E and F (sections could be altered based on demand) and Courtside ticket holders will be able to purchase their same seats for the First Round of the National Invitational Tournament.
 
 
UGA students will be admitted for free when showing their valid UGA ID at the Student Gate on game day.
