Georgia’s men’s tennis team moved up four spots to No. 7 in the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs entered play last week at No. 11 in the rankings, before taking down Tennessee, 5-2, and No. 18 Kentucky, 6-1, in back-to-back matches.
Georgia is currently riding an eight-match win streak and sits atop the SEC standings with a perfect 6-0 league record. This week, the Bulldogs head to College Station, Texas to take on 10th-ranked Texas A&M on Friday, before trekking down to Baton Rouge, La., to face No. 44 LSU on Sunday.
Part of Georgia’s success this season can be credited to the Bulldog freshmen, who currently boast a 13-1 singles record against SEC competition. Senior Austin Smith, who is ranked 35th in the country, is 7-3 at the top singles spot and pairs with Ben Wagland for an 11-3 doubles record.

Some kind of pro tournament has operated on the Yale University campus

the U.S. Open. Past champions include some of the game’s most
illustrious names, such as Boris Becker, Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi and
Venus Williams. This year the tournament attracted an elite field,
including the No. 6, 8, 9 and 10 players in the world.
