As fall camp begins for the Georgia Bulldogs there are question marks at multiple positions on both sides of the ball, but that is not news, nor is it unusual. This year is not unique regarding breaking in new players. Kirby Smart is the story for 2016. A new coach, a new staff and a decidedly new vibe inside the program has the fanbase, players and even the jaded press corp ready to see what the Kirby Era brings to Athens.
To me, this season is not about who starts at quarterback, the health of the running backs, or defensive line depth, or any of the countless other factors the may or may not prove to be important before Christmas. This campaign will be a success if we see a team that plays every game with a head-down, hard-nosed attitude. A team that is disciplined turning opponents mistakes into momentum. A team that is “in” every game until the last whistle having eliminated those head-shaking, inexplicable, no-show losses. If every opponent is glad they do not have to play Georgia the next week, 2016 will be a success.
No pressure, Kirby.
Dang skippy! Go Dawgs!
Bernie And AMEN!
Great read Greg. I want teams to lose the game they play the week before us because they are so worried about having to play us the next week. And then I want to lose the week after they play us because they are to beat up to play. I also want Sanford stadium to be every opponent and their fans nightmare! But, not because we are rude and obnoxious, but because of the way our team plays and our fans support!
Sums it up perfectly
“If every opponent is glad they do not have to play Georgia the next week, 2016 will be a success.”
Amen.
You nailed it Greg!
