MTEN: Hurricane Milton Moves ITA Men’s Tennis Southeast Regional Championships to Athens
The University of Georgia is now set to host the ITA Men’s Tennis Southeast Regional Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex from Wednesday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 20.
Originally slated to take place in Lake Nona, Fla. at the USTA National Campus, impending weather from Hurricane Milton prompted the hosting change. The Dan Magill Tennis Complex will see select Bulldogs face student athletes from Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida State University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech University, Kennesaw State University, Mercer University, Stetson University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, the University of North Florida and the University of South Florida.

The ITA Regional Championships feature many of the top men’s and women’s players from across the country. Over 8,000 student athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges across 85 different ITA Regional Championships host sites.
For Division I, the finalists of the singles draw and the doubles champions earn qualification for the NCAA Singles and Doubles National Championships hosted by Baylor University in Waco, Texas from Nov. 18-24.

- Earning a main draw selection, Anastasiia Lopata returned to action and produced a stellar performance, cruising past the WTA #306 Madison Sieg, 6-2, 6-1, in straight sets.
