Quarterback
Georgia signed two quarterbacks out of high school for the second year in a row. There was much less drama than last year’s cycle at the position, i.e. Dylan Raiola decided to flip commitments on early signing day. Ryan Montgomery, out of Findlay, Ohio, has been committed to the Bulldogs since April of 2024. He is listed as a four-star and the 14th-ranked quarterback prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. After throwing for 7,584 yards and 89 touchdowns Montgomery was named a finalist for Ohio Mr. Football in 2023, an award headlined by the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, who won in 2014. Montgomery’s senior campaign was cut short in Findlay’s first game when he tore his ACL less than three minutes into the game. Coach Smart told the media that Montgomery can participate in walk through type practices but is not yet full-go.
Hezekiah Millender is from Goodyear, Arizona but spent his senior year playing for Athens’ own Clarke Central Gladiators. Millender was originally committed to Boise State for three months before committing to Georgia on November 30, 2024. Millender, a three-star, is listed as the 79th-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class by 247Sports. As a dual-threat QB, Millender threw for 2,103 yards and rushed for 730 in his year with Clarke Central.
Tight Ends
This offseason, Todd Hartley brought in two of the top 15 tight end recruits. Both played high school ball in Georgia. Hartley found the Bulldogs another 6’7” tight end commit in Elyiss Williams. Williams is listed as a four-star and the fourth-ranked tight end in the 2025 class. Committed since April of 2023, Williams stayed loyal to the program. He transferred from Charlton County to Camden County for his junior and senior seasons, where he racked up 1,319 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 16.7 yards per reception.
Ethan Barbour also transferred for his senior year. He attended Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, helping the school reach a state championship with nine catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. Barbour was teammates with receiver enrollee CJ Wiley and will be roommates with Wiley in Athens, DawgNation reports. In his one year with Milton, four-star Barbour recorded 989 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns both through the air and on the ground.
Wide Receivers
Wide receiver coach James Coley worked his magic on the recruiting trail. Not only did he bring in five receivers out of high school, but he also recruited three out of the transfer portal.
Georgia landed class of 2025 five-star Talyn Taylor from Geneva, Illinois. In his senior year, he caught 84 passes for 1,617 yards and 24 touchdowns. He spent time practicing with the Bulldogs for the Sugar Bowl, and coach Coley spoke highly of him.
“Quick as a cat. Fast. Good catch radius and, you know, just very conscientious,” said Coley.
Three more prospects come from Georgia. CJ Wiley, as previously mentioned, won a state championship with Milton and Barbour. Wiley is the second highest ranked receiver in Georgia’s class and amassed 2,595 yards and 29 touchdowns over his junior and senior years in high school. Next is Landon Roldan. Roldan caught the eyes of Georgia coaches with his speed, reportedly clocking a 4.37 40-yard dash. He was a member of North Oconee football’s state championship roster this past season. His most notable performance came against Clarke Central with five touchdowns. Last but not least, from Georgia, Thomas Blackshear. Blackshear had over 1,000 yards and 17 receiving touchdowns in 10 games as a senior. Plus, he rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyler Williams, from Seffner, Florida averaged an astonishing 26.5 yards per catch during his senior season with 796 total yards. He’s a sizable receiver standing at 6’1” 220 LBs.
The Bulldogs hit the transfer portal hard. The former No. 1 receiver of the 2023 class, Zachariah Branch, decided to transfer to Georgia with his brother Zion, a safety. Branch possesses elite speed, reportedly clocking a 4.35 40-time. Last season, he recorded 503 yards and a touchdown, and he also returned punts for the Trojans. His longest return of last season was for 20 yards. Noah Thomas is coming off of an eight touchdown season with Texas A&M. He stands at 6’6” and can be seen constantly on film making contested grabs.
Running Backs
This year, Georgia only brought in one high school running back compared to last years’ haul of three. Bo Walker was the lone running back commit in the 2025 class. According to Georgia’s roster, Walker stands at 5’9” 210 LBs. 247Sports listed him a four-star and the 25th-ranked running back in the 2025 class. He transferred to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee school for his senior season, where he helped lead the team to its first ever state championship (NCISAA 4A). He carried the ball 75 times for 632 yards and three touchdowns.
Micah Bell, brother of current receiver Dillon Bell, also joined the team. Bell played as a receiver last season for Vanderbilt but has transitioned into a running back role.
Offensive Line
The Bulldogs brought in four offensive linemen, all playing high school ball in the Peach state. Class of 2025 five-star offensive tackle Juan Gaston joins the program at 6’7” 360 LBs as a freshman. Tackle was a weaker position for Georgia last season and will be an interesting spot to watch as the season progresses. Cortez Smith (IOL), Dennis Uzochukwu (OT), Mason Short (IOL) and Dontrell Glover (IOL) were all listed as four-stars in the class of 2025 by 247Sports. Glover was a part of a Langston Hughes offense that averaged 47.9 points per season in his senior year. Short helped lead Evans to average over 190 yards a game on the ground.
Defensive Backs
Todd Robinson may have been a great quarterback for Valdosta, but he will be playing defensive back in college. Robinson was listed in high school as a defensive back, quarterback and running back. Jontae Gilbert, a four-star by 247Sports, was selected to the Navy All-American Bowl. He played both offense and defense but on defense had eight tackles and three passes defended as a senior. Jaylan Morgan was a four-star in the class of 2025 by 247Sports. Morgan believes in Georgia’s ability to get him to his main goal, the NFL. Georgia went back to IMG in Bradenton, Florida to recruit Dominick Kelly. Kelly totaled 17 tackles, four interceptions and two pass breakups in his one year with the Ascenders. Teammate of Isaiah Gibson, Rasean Dinkins was ranked a four-star safety out of high school by 247Sports. Playing both defensive back and running back, Dinkins totaled 62 tackles and three interceptions, as well as 72 carries for 724 yards on the ground. He was named the 2023 Georgia Class 5A Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year.
Now that Malaki Starks and Dan Jackson are headed to the NFL, the defensive staff saw it critical to bring in more experience at the safety position. There were three new additions to the position from the transfer portal. Adrian Maddox is transferring from UAB. Maddox played for Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia before spending his first two years of college at Alabama State. With the Blazers, Maddox had 44 total tackles in his junior year, along with seven pass deflections, two forced fumbles and an interception. Jaden Harris, transferring from Miami, also played in Georgia growing up. Harris played for Riverwood High School and was selected first team all-region (7-6A) by the AJC after his senior year. He redshirted during his freshman year, appearing in two games, and in his three seasons with Miami, Maddox recorded 47 tackles, four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups and an interception. Finally, the brother of wide receiver transfer and fellow Trojan Zion Branch joined the Bulldogs. Branch also redshirted, but in two years of seeing the field tallied 41 total tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Linebackers
“Linebacker University” has another star in the making. Zayden Walker was named the No. 1 linebacker at the position by 247Sports. Walker led Schley County in tackles with 77 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. AJ Kruah, from Marietta High School played defensive end, linebacker, tight end, running back and wide receiver for Marietta as a senior. He led the team in solo tackles with 45, including 15 tackles for loss, seven sacks and an interception. On offense, Kruah also led his team in receiving with 427 yards.
Defensive Linemen
Elijah Griffin’s recruitment came down to the wire. Eventually, the No. 1 ranked defensive lineman in the class of 2025 by 247Sports committed to the Dawgs. Savannah Christian’s star lineman racked up 53 tackles, including 27 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks in just nine games during his senior year. Edge rusher Isaiah Gibson was also listed as the No. 1 player in the 2025 class at his position. In his senior year with Warner Robins, Gibson tallied 17 sacks, 19 tackles for loss and 55 quarterback pressures. Darren Ikinnagbon and Chase Linton both had five sacks in their senior years. JJ Hanne had 3.5 sacks and two pass breakups as a senior.
Special Teams
Kicker Connor Ferguson committed to the Bulldogs as a PWO. He played high school at Benedictine and is ranked the No. 7 kicker in the nation by Kohl’s Kicking rankings (No. 1 in Georgia). During his senior year, Ferguson went 15 for 18 on field goals with a long of 52 yards.
