The 11th Annual “Dancing with the Athens Stars” is Saturday, April 21st at 7:30 at the Classic Center.
 
 
Dancing with the Athens stars has attracted and entertained thousands of people and surpassed all expectations in fundraising netting over $1 million since its inception in 2008–funding expansion of Project Safe’s emergency shelter and other services ranging from counseling to housing assistance, client advocacy to education, and a statewide dating violence text line.
 
 
Georgia State Representatives Deborah Gonzalez and Mandi Ballinger will emcee this year’s event.
 
 
This year’s star lineup includes musician/business owner Seth Hendershot, dentist Phil Durden, restauranteurs Savie Arnold and Alonso Haro, artist/musician Heidi Hensley, and entrepreneur Beau “Lil Ice Cream Dude” Shell. We are also proud to present stand-out middle, high school and college students Maya Clement, Mary Frances Massey, Lucaya Nowell, and Allison Pearson.
 
 

 
 
Each star has been paired with a dance instructor who has created an original and entertaining dance to accommodate their star’s talents and abilities. They are all dancing for a worthwhile community cause while vying for “Judges’ Favorite” “Audience Favorite” and “Community Favorite” honors.

Tickets will also be available at the door for $26. Attendees will be able to select which team or teams they are supporting with their ticket purchase by using the team codes online or telling the attendant at the box office.
