The University of Georgia picked up a commitment from 2018 wide receiver Elijah Moore on Tuesday evening, and 2018 defensive end Azeez Ojulari is also set to announce his decision. What are the chances the Bulldogs pick up commitment No. 2 this week?
The stars seem to be aligning in favor for Georgia here or at the very least the crystal ball predictions on Dawgs247. Of the 11 predictions, 10 are for Georgia and one for Florida. Ojulari went from recruiting obscurity to being one of the more highly recruited 2018 defensive ends in less than a year. He saw his recruiting and offers grow after his junior season at Marietta High School where he put up eye-popping numbers that included 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. The Georgia coaching staff offered Azeez back on June 13th, one of over 30 scholarship offers Ojulari now holds.
The talented Blue Devil football star had a busy spring and summer taking unofficial visits as well as participating in Nike’s The Opening Atlanta Regional on March 26th. Ojulari was one of the top 10 performers putting up an impressive 114.54 SPARQ rating which earned him a trip to The Opening Finals on June 28th-July 3rd where he competed with some of the nations best. Ojulari did well and was among one of the top performers at the nationally recognized camp. After The Opening, Azeez was invited and committed to the U.S. Army All-American Game on July 5th. And now, he will make his decision at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday from his high school choosing between Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Whichever program get’s Azeez Ojulari’s commitment will be adding an explosive, disruptive pass rusher and play maker on defense. The 6 foot 4 and 224 lbs Ojulari is ranked as a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and the No. 3 defensive end for 2018. 247 considers him the No. 25 player in the nation overall. And ESPN, Rivals, and Scout also rank Ojulari as a top-fifteen, four-star prospect at WDE/OLB. If he does commit to the Bulldogs, it would give Georgia eleven commitments for the 2018 recruiting class when they just had two back in May. And UGA could add another one on Saturday as well when Peach County wide receiver Kearis Jackson announces his decision. So stay tuned Bulldawg fans…
