Georgia (9-5) plays host to Lipscomb (9-4) in a three-game series starting Friday at 6:05 p.m. Game two of the series will be Saturday at 2:05 p.m. with Sunday’s first pitch at 1:05 p.m. All three games will be available on SEC Network+ and the Georgia Bulldogs Sports Network from IMG.

The Bulldogs will tweak their rotation a bit for games two and three. On Friday, junior ace Robert Tyler (1-1, 1.59 ERA, 28 Ks, 3 BB in 17 IP) will start while junior LHP Connor Jones (2-0, 4.50 ERA) moves up to Saturday and senior Heath Holder (0-1, 3.07 ERA) goes on Sunday. The Bison rotation will feature senior LHP Cody Glenn (1-0, 5.27 ERA), sophomore RHP Jeffrey Passantino (3-0, 2.89 ERA) and sophomore RHP Brady Puckett (3-0, 1.71 ERA).

The Bulldogs are batting just .247 on the year and sport a 3.66 ERA and a .976 fielding percentage. Lipscomb is hitting .287 with a 4.58 ERA and a .973 fielding mark. The Bison are patient at the plate, ranking among the national leaders with 80 walks in only 13 games, and they are active once on the bases at 29-for-39 in stolen base attempts. In comparison, Georgia has 59 walks and nine stolen bases in 16 attempts this year. Georgia’s top hitters have been juniors Skyler Weber(.367-1-7) and Stephen Wrenn (.333-0-8). Weber has tied his career-best with a nine-game hitting streak while Wrenn has hit safely in seven games. During this stretch, Weber is batting .400 (16-for-40) while Wrenn is at .346 (9-for-26).

About Lipscomb: The Bison, located in Nashville, Tenn., are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference and are coached by Jeff Forehand. They finished the 2015 season with a 39-20 record and won their conference tournament to qualify for an NCAA Regional. They were sent to the Vanderbilt Regional and went 0-2, falling 9-1 to then No. 8 VU and 5-2 to No. 18 Radford. Lipscomb returns six starters and 13 pitchers this year. Georgia is 1-1 against Lipscomb with both meetings coming during the 2008 NCAA Athens Regional. The Bison upset the Bulldogs 10-7 in the opening round before Georgia eliminated them 14-3. Georgia would go on to advance to the College World Series Finals.

He posted a .364 career batting average with 28 home runs and 212 RBI. In 2009, he was inducted in to the Lipscomb Athletics Hall of Fame.

Midweek Update: The Bulldogs are 1-1 this week after splitting a road series with the Charlotte 49ers. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs saw a 4-2 lead vanish in the seventh inning when the 49ers registered an eight-run outburst en route to a 10-5 win at BB&T Ballpark (home of the Triple-A Charlote Knights) in Uptown Charlotte. A bright spot for the Bulldogs was freshmanMichael Curry coming through again as a pinch-hitter, smashing a three-run shot that put Georgia in front in the 6th inning. Curry is 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI as a pinch-hitter.

On Wednesday, the teams squared off at Hayes Stadium on the 49ers campus, and Georgia emerged with a 6-3 victory. Freshman Kevin Smith pitched a career-high 7.2 innings to lead the Bulldogs to a win. Four Bulldogs drove in a run Wednesday including two by Weber who had two hits.

Meanwhile, the Bison dropped a 14-11 decision last Tuesday at Tennessee Tech that lasted 3:58 as both teams used seven pitchers apiece and both scored six runs in the eighth inning.
