University of Georgia checks in at No. 10 in the Perfect Game preseason top 25 announced Wednesday.
The top 10 featured Louisville at No. 1 followed by Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, Arkansas and Arizona State, Auburn, Miami, Mississippi State, UCLA and the Bulldogs.
Also on Wednesday, Baseball America rolled out its first 2020 MLB Draft list of the top 100 prospects with junior pitcher Emerson Hancock ranked No. 2 and sophomore pitcher Cole Wilcox at No. 24. Hancock registered a 1.99 Earned Run Average in 14 starts while going 8-3 in 2019 to earn All-America and All-SEC honors. Wilcox posted a 3-2 mark with a 4.07 ERA in 19 appearances last year and was named to the Freshman All-SEC squad. He pitched for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team this summer. They helped Georgia to a consensus top 20 final national ranking. The Bulldogs went 46-17 including 21-9 in the SEC in 2019.
On Tuesday, the Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason All-America teams were released and Hancock was named to the First Team. The All-America teams were selected based on a balance of past performance, 2020 expectations and their prospective talent relative to the MLB Draft.
