COACH’S CORNER
Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Scott Stricklin on Georgia’s performance:
“We played great defense for most of the game, and we really needed to in a 1-0, 1-1 tight game. Georgia Southern’s bullpen is good and kept them in it, and I thought our pitching was good too. We made some mistakes late in some situations that we practice. Also, we need to be better offensively if we want to be a good team. I liked our at bats early but we didn’t have some good ones when we had men in scoring position. Overall when you look at the series, we did win one on the road, but after you win the first two games of a series, you want to be greedy and get the sweep. Still, I thought we got some momentum going in to Tuesday.”
