The University of Georgia baseball team will wrap up its fall workouts with the annual three-game World Series at Foley Field starting Friday at 4 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the facility is closed to the public.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of Ike Cousins head coach Scott Stricklin, have been split into two squads via a draft for the Fall World Series. The teams were announced by Stricklin at the end of Thursday’s practice via the Foley Field videoboard as the Bulldogs sat in the stands. The Red team will be coached by Brock Bennett with redshirt junior Riley King serving as the captain. The Black team will be coached by Nelson Ward with redshirt junior Mason Meadows serving as the captain. King and Meadows will not be playing due to injuries. All games will be seven innings.  

 
Junior left-hander Ryan Webb will start for the Red team Friday while the Black team will counter with freshman left-hander Charlie Goldstein. Webb was off to a stellar start in 2020, going 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA and one save. In five relief appearances covering 15 innings, he registered 26 strikeouts and only five walks. The starting pitchers for the final two games have not been announced. Both games this weekend are slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
