The annual three-game Fall World Series at Foley Field begins Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The Bulldogs have been split into two squads and will play three seven-inning games. Game two of the series is slated for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and the final game will be Sunday at 1 p.m. The Red team will be the home team Friday with sophomore left-hander Ben Harris getting the start. The Black team will counter with freshman right-hander Will Childers. Starters for the final two games have not been announced.
The Bulldogs held their first exhibition last Sunday at Foley Field and posted an 18-3 win over Columbus State. The final exhibition will be in Jacksonville against the University of Florida on Friday, Nov. 1. Tickets for the Georgia-Florida exhibition at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville are $15 (plus applicable fees) and include a postgame concert featuring award-winning country sensation Brett Young with special guests and a fireworks show. This season, the Bulldog baseball team is supporting local kids battling cancer through the Vs. Cancer nonprofit fundraising campaign under the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. A portion of the team’s fundraising efforts will support child life programs at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and a portion will help fund groundbreaking research to cure pediatric brain tumors. The 2020 season begins Feb. 14 with a three-game series against Richmond at Foley Field.
