On preaching playing “loose” and having fun…
“We’ve been in this spot before. We’ve got experience and we’ve got an older group so there’s no reason to be tight; just be loose and play the game that you’ve played all your life. That’s a playground out there, that’s what we talk about. Go out there and be a kid and have some fun. They’re very talented, they’ve been coached, they know what to do and they need to trust instincts, trust their abilities, and go out and play the game.”

On strategy preparing a team going into the postseason…
“You know can’t really try and change much. It’s another game. Certainly, it’s do or die this weekend, you have to play well and try to advance, but at the end of the day, you can’t really try and change the formula, you stick with what got you here. Pitching and defense and some clutch hitting has gotten us here so we’re just going to try and be ourselves. We think we’ve got a really good club and if we play the way we’re capable of playing, we got a great chance to win this tournament.”

On preparing for in-state foe Mercer…
“At the end of the day, we can’t control Mercer; we can control ourselves. We’re not going to be concerned with that. Every team that’s going to play us is going to want to knock us off and them obviously having a lot of guys from the state of Georgia, they’ll be excited to play us and we’re excited to play too. We can’t control their intensity; we can control our intensity. They’re going to bring it, we’re going to bring it, it should be fun.

On playing in front of a postseason crowd at Foley Field this weekend…
“It should be a lot of fun. We’re playing at seven o’clock under the lights and the weather’s supposed to be great, at least it’s supposed to cool off a bit. It’s going to be 80 degrees with a packed house in a Regional atmosphere. It should be a lot of fun.”
