The Minor League baseball season has returned and 15 former Bulldogs resumed their quest to reach the Majors after the ongoing pandemic canceled their 2020 campaign.

Four Bulldogs reunited as teammates in the Seattle Mariners organization. Pitchers Tim Elliott and Emerson Hancock are part of the Everett AquaSox, the Class-A affiliate while outfielders Stephen Wrenn and Keegan McGovern are part of the Arkansas Travelers, the Double-A affiliate. 

Hancock, the sixth overall selection in the 2020 MLB draft, made his professional debut on Thursday and pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in his first start. Elliott, a fourth round pick in 2019, pitched in relief this past Tuesday and registered eight strikeouts over 3.2 innings.  Wrenn was a sixth round selection of Houston in 2016 while Seattle selected McGovern in the ninth round in 2018.

Cole Wilcox, a third round pick in 2020 now in the Tampa Ray organization, made his debut earlier this week with four scoreless innings and five strikeouts for the Class A Charleston RiverDogs. Tucker Bradley and Cam Shepherd, two Bulldogs who signed as free agents after the 2020 draft was limited to just five rounds last year, also made their debut this past week for their respective organizations.

Currently, there are three Bulldogs at the Major League level: infielder/catcher Kyle Farmer (Cincinnati Reds), first baseman/outfielder Jared Walsh (Los Angeles Angels) and pitcher Alex Wood (San Francisco Giants). Also, pitcher Justin Grimm, who spent eight years in the majors, is playing for Mariachis de Guadalajara in the Mexican League.
