Georgia’s recruiting train just keeps rolling for the 2019 class. Bill Norton adds commitment No. 9 for the Bulldogs as he committed Sunday evening. He’s the fifth four-star for Georgia and the fourth player to rank in the top three in their state.
Norton ranks as the No. 11 strong defensive end and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Tennessee. He’s a 6-6 270 pounds prospect from Memphis, Tennessee. Norton currently holds 15 offers with the latest coming from Louisville on February 21. In the last few weeks, he visited Georgia on March 3, Mississippi State on March 10, and Tennessee on March 17. The visit to Georgia marked his fifth in the past year. It didn’t take Norton long to make his decision between the Bulldogs and the Volunteers. Norton committed to Georgia via Twitter around 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Georgia’s defensive line coach, Tray Scott led the way in his recruitment.

When you see Norton play, you can see why Georgia wanted him. He doesn’t stop. He will hold onto a player until that player goes down. Norton’s aggressive and uses his size to his advantage. He’s patient and likes to force turnovers. The defensive end sees the field well. He hits hard and anticipates well. Norton plays to his position well and is pretty quick to be 6-6. He’s persistent and will penetrate the offensive line until he overpowers them. Norton could work on his takeoff and footwork, but with the right development, he could turn into a star.
Norton joins an already talented 2019 class that includes three five-stars, and five four-stars. Georgia needs defensive linemen for the 2019 class, and it’s off to a start with Norton.
