Tight end Jeb Blazevich is one of the senior leaders on the Georgia football team. He knows the ropes and helps the young guys out on the team. However, Blazevich seems to be handing the reigns down to another talented tight end, Isaac Nauta.
After a successful freshman season on the field, the time has now come for Nauta to also become one of the leaders for the Dogs on and off the field. During an interview, Blazevich gave high praises to the young tight end and seemed to think Nauta has all the right tools.
“(Isaac Nauta) Personally, he’s a heck of an athlete, obviously awesome guy regarding physicality and mentally knowing the game. But I think his leadership stepped up a lot,” Blazevich said. “I believe he’s starting to challenge other guys. During conditioning, he demanded the best out of other people. I think he’s starting to get that out of people. He’s starting to get that out other individuals and the team loves him. That’s the biggest thing for him is taking it over. He has everything else, now he’s just demanding that from others, and that is what we need on this team.”
He seemed proud of Nauta and spoke highly of him. In essence, Blazevich has passed down the torch to Nauta and gave him the seal of approval.
“As for football, he’s ready to go,” Blazevich said.
