BRENT STOCKSTILL (QB, #12)
A 6-0, 215-pound senior, Stockstill comes between the hedges Saturday night as Middle Tennessee State’s all-time leading passer with more than 9,000 career yards and right at 80 touchdown passes. In the season-opening 35-7 loss to Vanderbilt, Stockstill completed 24-of-36 attempts for 178 yards and the Blue Raiders’ only touchdown. The veteran quarterback, who has missed nine games over the past two seasons with injuries, will be going to the air frequently Saturday evening and will be a test for the UGA secondary.
TY LEE (WR, #8)
Lee, a 5-9, 178-pound junior out of the Colquitt County powerhouse in Moultrie, Ga., is Stockstill’s favorite receiver, as evident by hisleading Conference USA with 79 catches in 2017 as a mere sophomore. Defending the Stockstill-to-Lee passing combination should be a good tuneup for the Georgia defense as the Bulldogs move against Drew Lock and Missouri’s high-powered passing game the following Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
DARIUS HARRIS (OLB, #30)
One of the ringleaders for the Blue Raider defensive unit, this 6-2, 238-pound senior has a true nose for the football. Named as the MVP in Middle Tennessee’s Camellia Bowl victory over Arkansas State last season, Harris totaled eight tackles in the Blue Raiders’ season-opening loss to Vanderbilt on Sept. 1. The Georgia offense will indeed have to account for Darius Harris come Saturday evening at Sanford Stadium.
KHALIL BROOKS (ILB, #6)
Another force for the Middle Tennessee defense Brooks, a 5-11, 206-pound junior from Atlanta, is a preseason All-Conference USA selection and, most assuredly, would love to have a big night against his home-state school on Saturday. As one can see, Brooks doesn’t have the size of most FBS college linebackers but he makes up for it with his quickness and pursuit to the football. Like Harris, Georgia must have an answer for this guy.
