Georgia gymnast Brandie Jay has been named the SEC Specialist of the Week following her performance against Florida, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.

The junior from Fort Collins, Colo., registered a pair of 9.925s and a 9.9 to help Georgia score a 196.950 on the road against the No. 3 Gators. Jay’s routines all placed in the top three, including a second place finish on vault with a 9.925. She also tied her season high on bars with a 9.9 to tie for third and equaled her season-best on floor with a 9.925 to tie for third. Jay is currently tied for 12th nationally on vault.

Florida’s Kytra Hunter and Kennedy Baker were named SEC Gymnast of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively.

Jay is the first Georgia gymnast to garner an SEC weekly honor this season. The Gymdogs will be back in action Friday at third-ranked LSU. The meet will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised live on the SEC Network.
