Broderick Jones has made it official. The 2020 offensive line commit reaffirmed his commitment will be signing his LOI to the University of Georgia per a ceremony at Lithonia High School this morning just after 10:30 a.m. ET.
The 6-foot-5 and 300 lbs Jones committed to UGA on April 16, 2018, but there was some question marks regarding whether or not he would stay committed to and sign with the Bulldogs after offensive line coach Sam Pittman left Georgia to take the head coaching position at Arkansas the day after the 2019 SEC Championship Game in December. However, Kirby Smart and UGA moved quickly hiring former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke to replace Pittman. Jones took an official visit to Georgia back on January 25th and was scheduled to take an official to Auburn, who was considered the Dawgs biggest competition for Jones, on January 31st this past weekend but canceled that scheduled visit with the Tigers.
Jones is rated a five-star prospect by 247Sports, the No. 2 offensive tackle, the No. 3 player from the state of Georgia, and the No. 11 overall recruit in the country for 2020. Rivals also rates Broderick a five-star prospect and have him as the No. 1 offensive tackle, the No. 2 player from the Peach State, and the No. 5 recruit nationally overall.
