To say last weekend was a tough one is an understatement. The unthinkable happened as South Carolina upset the Bulldogs between the hedges on Dooley Field. But it’s redemption time. Georgia host Kentucky for homecoming in week 8 of the college football season and the Bulldawg Illustrated staff have your predictions for the Dawgs vs. the Wildcats.

Rebecca Gemes: Georgia 35 – Kentucky 21

“Our team seems eager to show up and show out and prove they have what it takes! That’s all I have cause I’m nervy BUT hopeful and ready to cheer my loudest with this cool-weather coming in! There’s no way those boys are going into GA/FL with another loss!!! 35-21 Georgia.”

Josh Hancher: Georgia 45 – Kentucky 20

“Dawgs get the offense back on track!  
Kentucky opponents have a Success Rate of 46% and gained 6.3 yards per play.  Both of these stats exceed those team’s rates for the season. Dawgs, even in a poor scoring output against USC did have a Success Rate over 50%. UGA should move the ball at will and go into the open week on a good note. Cook gets season-high touches and scores twice. Georgia 45 – Kentucky 20.”

Caroline Kinney: Georgia 38 – Kentucky 21

“I’m following Vance’s lead too on this one…dear LORD let him be right!!! 38-21 Georgia.”

Cheri Leavy: Georgia 38 – Kentucky 21

“I’ve been talking with Vance about this one… Been sad, sad about last week but so hopeful for a true Homecoming Rally! So I’m going with his score prediction 38-21, Georgia, and walking out of Sanford happy, happy! I just can’t head to the Coast with 2 losses— it’s unfathomable!”

Vance Leavy: Georgia 38 – Kentucky 21

“Last week reminded me of a popular Drivin & Cryin song … Scarred but Smarter. However, I’m not ready to lose faith. The team puts it together on Saturday with a solid performance against the Cats, 38-21.”

Lance McCurley: Georgia 31 – Kentucky 14

“Georgia beats Kentucky 31-14 in an ugly game due to weather.”

Bob Miller: Georgia 27 – Kentucky 13

“The Dawgs are looking for someone to take their angst out upon after losing to the Gamecocks last weekend at home, and it just so happens the Wildcats are coming to town. However, mother nature is doing her best to throw a wrench in this one with a 100% chance of rain expected, 10-15mph winds, and a temperature that is going to struggle to get to 55°F. It’s going to be just plain nasty for homecoming folks, and that is most likely going to affect the score too. Georgia does get win number six, 27-13, over Kentucky.”

Matthew Pasek: Georgia 27 – Kentucky 14

“It’s going to be a rainy Saturday in Athens with the remnants of a tropical storm coming through Athens during the game.  With a projected high of 55 degrees and heavy rain in the forecast, this game has the potential to be sloppy and ugly.  Also, it will make the passing game very difficult if there is any wind in addition to the rain.  However, I believe the UGA offensive line will rebound in a big way and punish the Kentucky front seven.  The Dawgs play angry on Saturday and come out with the victory.  UGA 27 – Kentucky 14.”

Greg Poole: Georgia 45 – Kentucky 17

“Georgia will return to form and pummel the Wildcats, but the fanbase will not recover from the shock of the South Carolina loss until the Dawgs skin the Gators in Jacksonville. Kentucky does not the quality depth to keep it close against a motivated pack of Bulldogs, and Kirby Smart will have them straining at the leash after their terrible showing against the Gamecocks. UGA 45, UK 17.”

Murray Poole: Georgia 49 – Kentucky 14

“I think I was about the only one that predicted a relatively tight game with the Gamecocks last week (31-17 UGA win) but I never felt the 3rd-ranked Bulldogs were going to lose to an unranked South Carolina team. Of course, that’s exactly what transpired as the UGA team that defeated Notre Dame didn’t show up last Saturday at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium. But that debacle is now in the rear-view mirror. These Dawgs are still on track to Atlanta and the first step in that direction lies in dismantling the ‘Cats on Saturday. On what is looking like a rainy night between the hedges, Georgia’s defense slows UK quarterback Lynn Bowden just enough and the Bulldog offense shakes off the dismal day against the ‘Cocks. Georgia rolls big and then turns its thoughts toward the Cocktail Party! Georgia 49, Kentucky 14.”
